We thought it would be fitting with this year’s NFO TV theme to share some of our more famous alumni who are writers, actors, artists, composers, and musicians!

Sandra Bullock is an Oscar-winning actress and philanthropist with roles in The Lost City, The Blindside, and Bird Box. She graduated from ECU with a degree in drama in 1987.

Nia Franklin is a composer who won the Miss America Pageant in 2019. She graduated with a degree in music composition from ECU in 2015 and received a master’s from UNC School of the Arts in music composition.

Scott Avett is a founding member of the Avett Brothers, a American fold rock band, from Concord, NC. He is also an accomplished artist. He graduated with a degree in communication in 1999 and a degree fine arts in 2000.

Emily Procter is an actress with roles in “CSI: Miami,” “White Collar,” and “The West Wing.” She graduated from ECU with a degree in communication in 1991.

Kevin Williamson is creator and writer of “Scream” and creator and executive producer of “Dawson’s Creek” and “Vampire Diaries.” He graduated from ECU with a degree in fine arts in 1987.

Vince McMahon is a professional wrestling promoter and executive; he has been involved with corporate at WWE since the 1980s. He graduated from ECU with a degree in business in 1969.
