Surrounding Areas

While Greenville is a bustling city with lots to offer from unique dining experiences (more on that to come!), sports, museums, and the performing arts, the surrounding communities are home to a variety of day adventures. 

 Washington, NC is located roughly 30 minutes from Greenville. Around here, it is referred to as Little Washington! Little Washington sits on the Pamlico River and offers shopping and dining experiences along a beautiful waterfront. If you enjoy water adventures from kayaking to boating, this is a wonderful area to explore by water. 

Goose Creek State Park is about 20 minutes east of Little Washington, NC. The park is stunning with a pine forest, swampland, and the river. There are numerous walking and kayaking trails, a swimming area, fishing areas, a boat and kayak launch, picnic areas, and an educational center.  

Wilson, NC is 30 minutes west of Greenville and is home to the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park. Whether you are appreciating the engineering of the whirligigs or listening to live music behind the whirligig, it is a treat to experience.
